Pope breaks free from the tight handshake of a fan

P

A visibly indignant Pope Francis had to pull himself free today after he was caught by a woman. She took the hands of the prince of the church on St. Peter’s Square in Vatican City and pulled him hard.

The pope greeted people in the square, where a large nativity scene had been set up. He had already turned his back on the crowd when the woman suddenly grabbed him (video: see below). The 83-year-old pope clearly did not like that and seemed to be in pain.

Video footage shows how Francis taps her hand with which she is holding him. An employee also intervenes. The woman also addressed the pope, but it is still unclear what exactly she said to him.
