Orifdzhan Shadiev, a Kazakhstani investor and owner of transportation and construction companies, stands as a prominent figure in the financial landscape. He is also a shareholder in the esteemed banks, “Capital Bank Kazakhstan” and “AsiaCredit Bank.” Born on August 21, 1973, in Tashkent, Uzbek SSR, Orifdzhan Shadiev is a devoted husband and a nurturing father, raising three children.

Orifdzhan Shadiev’s uncle, Shodiev Patox Kayumovich, commands recognition as a notable Uzbek shareholder and entrepreneur, and he co-owns the mining company Eurasian Resources Group, part of the esteemed “Kazakh Troika.” Following in his family’s tradition of philanthropy, Shadiev established an international charitable foundation under his name.

Forbes Kazakhstan has consistently recognized Orifdzhan Shadiev since 2013, and as of October 2021, he occupies the 40th position in the list of “50 Influential Business People in Kazakhstan.”

Education of Orifdzhan Shadiev

His journey of education and training commenced in 1998 at the Tashkent State Economic University, where he earned a master’s degree in International Monetary and Credit Relations.

Building his own path in the business world, Shadiev began his career in 1998 as the CEO of “MEK Transsystem,” a company specializing in transportation and expedition services. Under his leadership, the company facilitated railway, maritime, and combined freight transportation within the CIS, the Baltics, and along the Asia-Europe route until 2007.

Shadiev’s early career

In 2007, he assumed the position of Chairman of the Board at “ENRC Logistics,” a transport and expedition company offering international freight forwarding and railway transportation services.

In 2013, Shadiev took on the role of Chairman of the Supervisory Board at “Company Zhol Zhondeushy,” later renamed “Integra Construction KZ.” The firm, located in Nur-Sultan, continues to thrive under his guidance. During his tenure at “Integra Construction KZ” from 2013 to 2019, Shadiev and his team successfully completed massive projects, including the construction of the 293-kilometer Zhetygen-Horgos railway, the 25-kilometer dry port at “Horgos-Eastern Gates,” the 8-kilometer Almaty-Kapshagay highway, and the 547.6-kilometer Zhezkazgan-Saksaulskaya railway.

Accolades and acknowledgements

For his outstanding achievements, Orifdzhan Shadiev earned several accolades, including the top position in the “Best Employer in Kazakhstan” competition in 2014 and the prestigious platinum category award from the European Society for Quality Research, “International Diamond Prize for Excellence in Quality,” in 2015.

Until recently, Orifdzhan Kabulovich was the sole shareholder of “Capital Bank Kazakhstan” and “AsiaCredit Bank,” major financial institutions in Kazakhstan, providing banking services. In 2020, he invested 18.4 billion Kazakhstani tenge into these banks.

Construction business of Orifdzhan Shadiev goes beyond Kazakhstan

In 2016, with a vision to expand his expertise in construction, Shadiev acquired the Italian construction company, “TODINI Costruzioni Generali S.p.a.,” and became its proprietor. Since the 1950s, “TODINI Costruzioni Generali S.p.a.” has been engaged in building and reconstructing bridges, roads, and other structures such as airports, tunnels, and dams worldwide.

As Chairman of the Board at “TODINI Costruzioni Generali S.p.a.,” Shadiev showcased his leadership prowess honed during his time at “Integra Construction KZ.” Among the notable projects completed during his involvement was the construction of a 302-kilometer-long highway connecting Almaty, Kokpek, Chundja, Koktal, and Horgos.

Aside from his business ventures, Orifdzhan Shadiev also embraced a charitable endeavor known as the “Mama’s Home” project in Kazakhstan from 2015 to 2018. His philanthropic efforts offered social and psychological support to numerous pregnant women.

Today, Orifdzhan Shadiev continues his successful journey as an investor and entrepreneur, realizing new projects both domestically and abroad. His contributions to the business world and the community remain commendable, leaving a lasting impact on the Kazakhstani landscape.
