The Chinese automaker Geely talks to the British sports car brand Aston Martin about an investment. That is reported by the British business newspaper Financial Times. At present, the Chinese, who already own the Lotus and Volvo car brands and have a 10 percent interest in Mercedes mother Daimler, are doing book research.
Geely is not the only party that may want to join Aston Martin. Earlier there were reports that Canadian billionaire Lawrence Stroll wants to take an interest in Aston Martin. He would like to deposit around £ 200 million, over £ 235 million, for just under 20 percent of the shares.
With the money that Aston Martin hopes to raise from an investor, the company wants to pay off a number of relatively expensive loans.
