Industrial production in the euro area fell unexpectedly in June. This was shown on Thursday by Statistics Bureau Eurostat.
Production, adjusted for seasonality, decreased by 0.3 percent in June compared to May. Economists expected an increase of 0.2 percent.
In May, monthly production fell by 1.1 percent. Compared to a year earlier, industrial production increased by 9.7 percent in June. Here, an increase of 10.5 percent was predicted.
