Inflation in Germany came to 1.5 percent on an annual basis in February, from 1.4 percent a month earlier. The German Federal Statistical Office reported this on the basis of definitive figures.
A level of 1.6 percent was reported in the provisional figures for February. Connoisseurs generally assumed that this level was maintained. On the basis of the European harmonized measurement method, German inflation remained stable at 1.7 percent. This was also widely expected.
French inflation amounted to 1.3 percent on an annual basis, the same percentage as previously reported. A month earlier inflation was 1.2 percent. Economists counted at the level of 1.3 percent taken by the bank. Inflation of 1.6 percent was measured on the basis of the European harmonized measuring method.
