Lufthansa will start flights from Frankfurt to Belfast City Airport on April 23, 2023. This makes it the first airline to offer a direct service between Northern Ireland and Germany.
Lufthansa will fly to Belfast’s second airport four times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. She does this with flight number LH1528.
Since Lufthansa has a base in Frankfurt, Katy Bets, commercial director at Belfast City Airport, finds the route an attractive option for passengers to make connecting flights to more distant destinations.
Belfast is not the only new destination in the German airline’s summer Network. From Frankfurt, a route will also be opened to London-Gatwick, Asturias, Skopje and Biarritz. Asturias is also visited for the first time from Munich. In addition, the carrier will fly from Munich to Bordeaux for the first time and Rzeszów, Mexico City and Osaka will return to the summer schedule.
