World, As Seen from the most beautiful islands: Ireland and Cyprus

European PMI plummeted as lockdowns are imposed for the second time

Coronacrisis continues to have a negative impact on the situation in European industry and services. Especially now that the virus has been around again in recent weeks and many countries are taking additional measures to prevent further spread. This can be seen from preliminary figures from the British market researcher Markit for the month of November.

According to Markit’s Purchasing Manager Index, there was a slight contraction in the French industry, where earlier recovery was seen. For the services sector, which includes aviation, a state of 38 was reported, compared with 47.5 a month earlier. A position of 50 or more indicates growth, below it indicates shrinkage.

The same picture can be seen in Germany, although there was still a clear growth in industry. The index for German industry was 57.9 of 58.2 last month. The services sector continued to decline, reaching 46.2 as against 49.5 a month earlier.
