Emirates Group aviation company to ditch 30,000 jobs

Dubai-based aviation concern Emirates Group plans to cut up to 30,000 jobs to deal with the corona crisis. Insiders reported this to Bloomberg news agency. Due to the measures to curb the virus outbreak, the Emirates fleet is almost completely grounded.

Emirates has over 100,000 employees and is looking for ways to reduce costs. The airline may also wish to take its fleet of Airbus A380s out of service more quickly due to the crisis in the aviation sector. The Dubai government has already announced support for Emirates.

Emirates is the largest of the so-called Golf companies and a major provider of intercontinental flights.
