A member of the Otzma Yehudit party has suggested that one of Israel’s potential courses of action in the Gaza war could involve the use of a nuclear bomb on the Gaza Strip. In an interview with Radio Kol Berama,
Heritage minister Amichai Eliyahu stated, “This is one of the possibilities,” when asked about the use of an atomic bomb in the enclave. It’s important to note that Eliyahu is not part of the security cabinet responsible for wartime decision-making and does not influence the war cabinet leading the conflict against Hamas.
During the same interview, Eliyahu expressed objections to providing humanitarian aid to Gaza, comparing it to aiding the Nazis and asserting that there are no uninvolved civilians in Gaza.
He also advocated for reclaiming the Gaza Strip territory and re-establishing settlements there. When asked about the fate of the Palestinian population, he suggested they could go to Ireland or the desert, and that the situation in Gaza should be resolved by the people there themselves.
