World, As Seen from the most beautiful islands: Ireland and Cyprus

Daimler intends to save one billion on Mercedes-Benz

D

The German car maker Daimler wants to reduce costs at Mercedes-Benz by 1 billion euros. The company does this by cutting the number of employees, among other things. The interventions must be completed by 2022.

Daimler made no statements about the number of jobs that will disappear. Among other things, the automaker wants to free up money to pay for the transition to electric and autonomous driving. In addition, the aftermath of the diesel issue continues to haunt the company.

Daimler came out earlier this year with multiple profit warnings. For top executive Ola Källenius, who took the helm in May, the task remains to come up with a strategy to boost the results. Later in the day, he faces his first major strategy presentation in front of investors.
