The Amsterdam Stock Exchange made some progress on Friday. The other European stock exchange meters also showed cautious profits. Silicon chip manufacturer Besi (plus 2.7 per cent) was the largest increase among medium-sized companies, thanks also to overnight news in the sector. The American company Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) wants to take over the Wall Street Journal branch Regent Xilinx. In addition, the Dutch NXP Semiconductor, which has a listing on the Nasdaq, came with better than expected turnover figures for the third quarter.
In the local market, Euronext won 0.8%. The operator of the stock exchanges in Amsterdam, Paris, Brussels, the Italian Borsa Italiana and on of professional the London Stock Exchange (LSE).
