Cathay Pacific Airways has issued a profit warning. The Hong Kong airline is experiencing strong headwinds due to ongoing protests in its home market.
The profit in the second half of the year will probably be lower than in the first half of the year. That is very unusual for society. It was also stated earlier that the result would improve.
The number of passengers decreased by 7.1 percent in September. Travelers avoided Hong Kong because of the protests against the greater Chinese involvement in the former English city-state. Cathay spoke in an explanation of “particularly challenging circumstances”.
