Due to the recent outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza in Ireland means of transport for poultry meat, such as poultry or eggs, that are blank, to return or to come out of Ireland immediately after their arrival in the Netherlands for a second cleaning and disinfection (R&D) are treated.
This second R & D shall be carried out at an approved cleaning and disinfection site for livestock transport equipment or registered cleaning and disinfection site for poultry transport equipment. The Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and food quality will make this mandatory on Monday 4 January. This obligation already applies to the EU member states Germany, Sweden, Denmark, France, Croatia and Poland, Belgium and to all countries outside the European Union, i.e. third countries, including the United Kingdom (UK).
At the end of the second R&D, the transporter shall have proof of cleansing and disinfection completed and signed by the supervisor of the approved or registered R&D site. The transporter then sends this evidence of the second R & D to the central reporting point of the NVWA.
