Aircraft maker Airbus has flown 4 million medical masks from China to Spain. The French company has organized an airlift between Europe and China to provide protective equipment for medical personnel.
The cargo flights will, in addition to Spain, also provide France, Germany and the United Kingdom with new masks from China to continue the fight against the new corona virus. The flights are operated to and from an Airbus location in the Spanish municipality of Getafe. It is still unclear how the mouth masks are transported from Spain to the other European countries.
Airbus operates the flights with its model A330-200 passenger aircraft. That aircraft has been specially transformed into a cargo plane with a capacity for 45 tons of cargo for the transport of mouth masks.
