Stress of choice when shopping online? Or afraid that you are about to commit a mispurchase? Soon those problems will be off the job at Zalando. The German retailer is introducing assistance via chatGPT. That AI feature should guide you to the right purchase.
The AI technology allows customers to ask questions in their own words, allowing them to browse the online store’s assortment in a more intuitive way. The’ smart ‘ assistant will formulate an answer based on the customer’s question and suggest the best clothing choices for the occasion.
Situation sketch on the site of the online store: in July you have to go to a wedding on the Greek island of Santorini. What do you wear best? Tap the question in the chat window and the system will bring up advice. “In Santorini it is very hot in July and it can blow a lot. Therefore, it is best to choose a dress in satin. This fabric does not blow up easily”, informs the assistant. Along with that answer, you will immediately receive some suggestions. Still need shoes for the after party on the beach? Let us know through the chat and you will be shown a series of sandals without heels.
The first beta version of the helper will be available in the spring for a select group of customers with support in English and German. In Belgium, the function will not be launched immediately. First are Germany, Ireland, the United Kingdom and Austria.
