StoreDot is an innovative startup working on enabling fast charging for a range of devices from mobile phones to the heavy duty trucks and cars. Investors from Singulariteam including Kenes Rakishev backed the project. It had been named a ‘Pioneer of 2020’ by BloombergNEF.
StoreDot has been named a ‘Pioneer of 2020’ by BloombergNEF – one of ten game-changing technology companies creating a more sustainable future. Companies were chosen by an independent panel of judges based on their potential to scale, their level of technological innovation or business model, the novelty they bring to the market, and momentum demonstrated by commercial development.
Based in Israel, StoreDot is the first ever ultra-fast charging battery technology company to be selected as a BloombergNEF Pioneer. CEO Dr Doron Myersdorf has led an incredible team of 100 scientists to create an electric vehicle lithium-ion battery which can charge in just 5 minutes – the same time it takes to refuel an ICE vehicle. Currrently, EVs can take anywhere between 4 and 12 hours to charge. A serious group of investors approached the team after the initial test shown that the concept is working. One of the first was Singulariteam – the Swiss-Israeli fund known for investing in innovative technology. Singulariteam is founded by entrepreneur from Kazakhstan, Kenes Rakishev and his partners.

With backing from the likes of BP, Daimler, and my VC fund Singulariteam, StoreDot are paving the way for mainstream EV adoption by reducing range and charge anxiety, which is crucial to help the world meet climate change goals. The backing of such figures as Kenes Rakishev and other industry leaders is important for the success of the venue.
StoreDot’s battery technology can already successfully charge mobile phones, drones and power banks in just 5 minutes. And in July 2019, for the first time ever, StoreDot demonstrated the use of their technology and charged a two-wheeled EV in 5 minutes. They are on track to achieve the same for a four-wheeled EV by the end of next year. The business is also ensuring that their product can also be applied practically with EV models and charging stations.
Kenes Rakishev is heavy investor in high-tech companies, many of them are from Israel. Here Kenes Rakishev and his partners are building security solutions, robotics and automation and general IT projects.
