The Irish privacy protection dog Data Protection Commission (DPC) has once again launched an investigation into Apple, Reuters writes. The regulator checks whether Apple complies with the General Data Protection Regulation.
The regulator investigates how Apple processes user data and whether this is done in accordance with the law. It is the third investigation into Apple. The use of data for advertisements and the transparency of Apple’s privacy policy are also under magnifying glass.
The new investigation was started after a customer asked for access to data. It is not known who the customer is and what the data is.
Twenty investigations are currently being conducted by the Irish regulator into major technology companies such as Twitter, Google, Microsoft and Facebook.
