Chinese traders are said to have received a message from Nvidia in which the US manufacturer calls for stocks of the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti to be disposed of, according to ITHome. Nvidia would soon also stop producing this video card.
According to the Chinese tech website, it would take several months before the stocks of the RTX 3060 TI are finally exhausted. Wccftech and Tom’s Hardware state that Nvidia wants to pave the way for the upcoming GeForce RTX 4060 TI with this decision. This new video card will appear in two variants, a version with 8GB of memory and a version with 16GB of memory. The version with 8GB of memory would appear on May 24th. The 16GB version, according to rumors, should hit the shelves at the end of July.
The exact specifications of the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti are not yet officially known. Among other things, the new video card would have a 128bit memory bus, an AD106 gpu with 4352 CUDA cores and a 2580mhz boostclock. Also, according to rumors, the gpu would receive a PCIe 4.0-x8 interface.
Nvidia released the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti in december of 2020. The video card received 8GB of GDDR6 memory, with a speed of 14gbit/s. the video card, like the RTX 3070, uses the GA104 gpu, but not all CUDA cores are active. The RTX 3060 Ti has 4864 cores, with the RTX 3070 there are 5888. The video card received a recommended price of 419 euros upon introduction.
