Facebook has lost millions of users in the United States since 2017. This is what market researcher Edison Research says in a study that the American news website Marketplace writes about. A total of about 15 million users, most of whom are in the wanted group of 12 to 34 years.

The decline at Facebook is mainly due to changing use of social media, the researchers say. In this way Instagram, which is owned by Facebook, does grow.

Incidentally, there is not only bad news for Facebook. In the age category of 55 and older, the company still manages to attract new users. Moreover, Facebook is still the most used social medium in the US. 61 percent of Americans use Facebook.
