Tech company Amazon is postponing the return of its US personnel to the office until early January. The company does so because of the emergence of the Delta variant of the coronavirus in the United States. Earlier, the company behind the well-known web store still assumed that its employees would come back to work in the office from 7 September.
Amazon has over 75,000 employees in Seattle where the company is headquartered. Amazon also has offices in the San Francisco area, in New York, Boston and Los Angeles.
Earlier this week, Microsoft postponed its plans for the return of its employees to the office to October. At the same time, that tech company also announced that it would require proof of vaccination from its personnel. Other large companies like Google, Facebook, Walmart and meat processing company Tyson Foods also want their employees to be vaccinated against the coronavirus.
