Prince Edward and his wife Sophie met with the president of Cyprus on Tuesday. The Wessexes were received at the presidential palace by Nikos Anastasiadis and his wife Andri Anastasiades.
After the meeting with the president, Edward and Sophie inspected the guard of honor at the presidential palace.
The couple is on a two-day visit to the island in the Mediterranean Sea, which is a member of the Commonwealth. The visit is dedicated to the platinum anniversary of Queen Elizabeth. On Monday evening, Edward and Sophie already attended a reception to celebrate the anniversary. There they met, among others, members of the British community in Cyprus.
Edward and Sophie have already visited several Commonwealth countries in honor of Elizabeth’s platinum anniversary. In april, they traveled to several Caribbean countries.
