Queen Elizabeth II does not go to Northern Ireland on Wednesday or Thursday because of her health. Doctors have advised the 95-year-old queen not to go and advise her to rest for the next few days, reports Buckingham Palace.
‘The Queen is well and disappointed that she cannot go to Northern Ireland’, says the statement. What’s going on with Elizabeth has not been disclosed. The Guardian reports that the health problems have nothing to do with the coronavirus.
She is currently staying at Windsor Castle, where she received tech businessmen and politicians just last night. Prime minister Boris Johnson and Microsoft founder Bill Gates were present at the reception. It is striking that Elizabeth used a walking stick for the first time in public last week. Whether it has anything to do with these matters is not clear.
Elizabeth sends her regards to the people of Northern Ireland. She ‘ looks forward to a visit in the future’.
