Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar goes to work for the National Health Service once a week during the corona epidemic.
Before entering politics, Varadkar worked as a doctor. The Prime Minister has now offered his services to the Health Service Executive (HSE) for one session a week. He will be evaluating patient symptoms over the phone.
At the outbreak of the epidemic in Ireland, the HSE had launched a call to health graduates who are no longer active in the sector. Varadkar is one of over 60,000 people who have relisted their services.
In Ireland, 158 people died from the corona virus. Nearly 5,000 infections were detected.
