A military base north of Baghdad has been hit by multiple rockets. Four Iraqi soldiers were wounded, including one or more army officers.
This is the air force base in Balad, which was also used by American troops in the past. CNN reports that there are currently no Americans on the base.
It is not known who fired the rockets. According to Sky News Arabia, these are Katyusha the old rockets produced in the Soviet Union. After the American liquidation of Iranian General Soleimani, several Iranian retaliation took place in Iraq. Last Wednesday, two bases were bombarded with rockets. Rockets were also struck in the heavily protected Green Zone in Baghdad last week. It is unknown who was behind it.
After the attacks on military bases, a commander of the Revolutionary Guard said that the attacks are just the start of a series of revenge actions. Today Hassan Nasrallah, leader of the Iran-supported Hezbollah movement, repeated that message. The ultimate goal is the withdrawal of all Americans from the region, he said in a TV speech.
