Tesla CEO Elon Musk seems to ask Twitter users if his company should build a new factory in Texas. The car manufacturer is expanding internationally to meet the fast-growing demand for Teslas.
Musk asked his 31 million on Twitter the question “Giga Texas?”, With “Hell yeah” and “Nope” as answer options. With that question, the CEO seems to be hoping for the opening of a large factory, a so-called Gigafactory, in Texas. Around 9 am UTC, 80 percent gave the positive answer.
This year Tesla started delivering cars from the new factory in the Chinese city of Shanghai. US President Donald Trump recently stated that he expects the car manufacturer to also expand the number of factories in the United States.
Earlier, Musk said on Twitter that he wanted to take his company off the stock market, while that was not the case. That brought him to a punishment from the stock market regulator SEC. Musk had to pay a fine, was not allowed to tweet market-sensitive information and was no longer allowed to chair his company. Now he is only Tesla’s chief executive.
