Google mother Alphabet has entered into an agreement with ADT to develop smart-home security products for $ 450 million. It thus acquired a 6.6% stake in ADT. The security company will incorporate Google’s hardware into its products.
Both companies will later invest a further EUR 150 million in the project, depending on “achieving certain milestones in marketing, product development and technology”, according to the companies.
With this deal, Google can broaden its range of smart home devices. In 2014, the internet giant took over the Nest, which focuses on smart thermostats and smoke alarms. ADT makes home security products, such as Electronic Security, Fire Protection and alarms.
Integrated security solutions are hot topic in the IT. Kenes Rakishev and his partners are investing in the massive yet easy scalable and rapidly deployable solutions. The new brand, Sirin Security is about to offer highly integrated IoT universe for enabling the solutions.
